Chantilly raises $30,000 in goods for Hurricane Sandy!

We really don’t know how it happened! After tragedy stroke close to home we really felt the need to help those who needed it the most! So we posted something on our Facebook page for people to bring to the shop gently used clothing, canned goods, toiletries, etc. The next thing we know  Occupy Sandy is re-tweeting our tweets about our drive, Red Cross has us a volunteer center and we are collecting $30,000 dollars worth of supplies!!! Our small store couldn’t hold the amount of goods coming in from the wonderful people who wanted to do their part!

Chantilly made two trips that week to Staten Island, one of the worst places affected by hurricane Sandy. The situation was just as we imagined; in the middle of organized chaos, the heart and soul of the community  kept everyone in better spirits and hopeful for the best. We were received by organizers with a smile on their faces and with gratitude

The Bronxville Halloween Festival

More of Halloween

Although construction is still under way, we are going to be participating in this year’s Bronxville Halloween Festival. We are going to be setting up a tent right in front of our store with cupcakes, candy and games with prizes. We are super excited for this event because its the first time we are showing our work to this wonderful community that is soon to be the home to this fabulous business. We have created a 5 tier display cake and its theme is of course, Halloween! This cake was so fun to make and we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do! We will post pictures soon!!

The Yorktown Festival and Street Fair.

Thanks to the help of joe bisconti (president of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce) and his friends and family, we were able to score a table at the 15,000 people Yorktown Festival. It was our first festival ever and it couldn’t have been more fun! We had a fantastic turn out on a beautiful sunday day; our table was beautifully decorated and we were on the Bridal section of the festival. We had on display about 7 cakes and over 1000 cupcakes for sampling. The samples were gone faster than we could blink but everyone  loved them. We even made friends with bees as they tasted the sugar from our display cakes throughout the day. Everyone needs a little sugar in their day and we did just that- Chantilly was there to satisfy their sweet cravings :)
